The Chrysler Imperial was in the Corgi range for just two years - from 1965 to 1967 - and featured a unique and ingenious 'secret' mechanism for opening the bonnet. By pushing down on the front axle, the bonnet would open just enough to be lifted. This Corgi classic also featured opening doors, tilting seats, two figures (the passenger being significantly smaller than the driver) and a boot that opened to reveal a set of golf clubs and a caddy. Interestingly, a variant of the Chrysler Imperial appeared in the 1969 Corgi catalogue as the 'Bermuda Taxi'. This unusual variant was given the Corgi number 507 and unfortunately never entered production.
